Sully

Meet Sullivan (Sully)!
Sully is a 5-year-old, 70-pound Pointer mix with a big personality, an even bigger heart, and a talent for making his people laugh! This affectionate goofball is part adventure buddy, part oversized lap dog. He loves chasing tennis balls, swimming, playing with other dogs, and soaking up attention from his favorite humans. After a busy day, he's happy to curl up on the couch.

Sully has been a beloved family member since he was 12 weeks old. He's grown up with young children and has been wonderful with them. He also loves other dogs of all sizes and has gotten along beautifully with the dogs he's lived with. He's friendly with visitors, too, although he may announce their arrival with a few barks before enthusiastically greeting them with kisses!

This smart boy is house-trained, crate-trained, and has completed professional obedience training. He knows sit, stay, down, come, and "find it." He's trustworthy loose in the house and isn't destructive when left alone, although he'd much rather be with his people. He's also a bit of a conversationalist, barking during playtime and occasionally howling along with sirens!

Like many Pointers, Sully has a strong prey drive and loves chasing birds, squirrels, and rabbits, so cats are not a good match. He also has some leash reactivity, particularly toward other dogs, and may lunge when passing them. His family has worked on distraction and redirection techniques, and he responds well to commands like "find it" and "off." He's very social with dogs off leash, and his new family should be prepared to continue working on his leash manners.

Sully's ideal home would be with active people who can provide consistent exercise, attention, and structure. A securely fenced yard would be a big plus! He's lived happily with other dogs and young children and could be a wonderful addition to an active household that appreciates the energy and enthusiasm of a pointer.
