Rocco

Rocco is a 1.5-year-old male GSP mix with a huge personality! Sweet, snuggly, and just a little sassy, this handsome boy is the definition of a Velcro dog. He simply wants to be wherever his people are, whether that's out on an adventure or curled up on the couch.

At around 50 pounds, Rocco is truly a puppy in a grown-up body. He is playful, goofy, and always ready for fun. He loves playing tug-of-war with his foster brother, zooming around the backyard, and soaking up as much attention as he can get. One of his most endearing quirks is his signature "Elvis lip"—his playful way of letting you know that scratches are non-negotiable. If you don't get the hint, he'll happily give you a gentle paw until you do!

Rocco can be a little timid when meeting new dogs, but once he feels comfortable, he loves to play. He is still learning how to read other dogs' social cues, so he would do best with a confident, patient canine companion—or he'd be perfectly happy soaking up all the attention as your one and only.

This smart boy is house-trained, taught himself how to use a doggy door, and rides great in the car. He's currently working on his recall, leash manners, and learning new tricks. He sleeps well in his crate at night... after a little negotiation, of course.

Rocco also has a bit of a Houdini streak! Like many young GSPs, he's curious, athletic, and always looking for his next adventure. He has been known to sneak out an open door or test the limits of a crate if given the opportunity, so he'll need a family that's mindful about doors, uses a secure crate when needed, and is committed to continuing his training. With consistency and good management, he's already making great progress.

Because of his prey drive, Rocco is not a good fit for a home with cats or other small animals. His experience with children is currently unknown.

Rocco would thrive with an active family, especially one familiar with the GSP breed or other high-energy dogs. He's looking for a home that will continue his training, include him in everyday adventures, and give him all the love and attention he craves. In return, you'll get a loyal, hilarious best friend who will keep you smiling every single day.
