Meet Odie! This 11-month-old GSP/Hound mix is the perfect blend of playful puppy energy and loyal companion spirit.

Odie started out a bit shy, but in just a month he’s blossomed into a confident, curious, and affectionate young dog. He’s happiest when near his people—true “velcro dog” style—but he’s also great at entertaining himself with toys or a good stick in the yard.

He’s housebroken, crate trained, and sleeps quietly through the night. He still whines a bit when left alone in his crate but settles down well. Odie knows “sit” and has excellent recall to both his name and a whistle. He is awesome on an e-collar! He’s working on “down,” “stay,” and improving his leash manners.

Odie loves to play with other dogs, chase squirrels, and zoom around the yard, but he’s just as happy curling up nearby for a nap once he’s had some fun. He’s done great with dogs of all sizes and has been gentle and friendly with kids he’s met.

Odie would do best in a home with a fenced yard and an active adopter who can keep up with his curious nature and love of play. Another friendly dog—especially one close to his age—would be a big bonus.
