Meet Miss Nova!
Nova came to us underweight but otherwise healthy. With some good groceries and care since the New Year, she’s now up to a healthy 55 lbs and looking fantastic!
Nova loves getting out for walks—whether long adventures or shorter strolls. Like many German Shorthaired Pointers, she’s still working on her leash manners and can be a bit of a puller, but she’s making steady progress. We’ve also been working on recall using a long lead, and she’s improving every day (though she’s not quite ready for full off-leash freedom just yet).
She’s still learning her basic commands like “sit” and “stay,” but she’s eager and will get there with a little patience and consistency.
Nova has come a long way with other dogs. She’s mostly past her earlier reactivity, though she may still set boundaries with overly enthusiastic larger male dogs—she knows what she likes! With proper introductions and guidance, she continues to improve.
What Nova loves most is her people. She thrives on human affection and connection, though too much hugging can make her a little nervous—she prefers love on her own terms. She’s house-trained, does well with free roam in the house, and has even conquered her fear of the dog door.
At night, Nova is a dream—she sleeps soundly and may even treat you to the cutest light snore.
She’s not a jumper, but she does get adorably excited about life, just as a young GSP should. Overall, Nova is an incredibly sweet girl who is blossoming more each day into the happy, confident dog she’s meant to be.
If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion with a playful spirit and lots of potential, Nova might just be your perfect match.
