Jax - CO

Jax is a 10-year-old GSP who loves to cuddle, is house trained, dog friendly, and has never met a stranger! He is also comfortable in his crate for bedtime and when his people are around. Jax loves having the other resident dog friends around and seems to do best when he is left to free roam with them when his people leave.

Jax is pretty athletic for an older guy and can easily clear 3-4+ft fence or gate when determined enough, so excellent supervision is required in yards with shorter fencing. Baby gates and similar barriers are no match for him.

Like a typical GSP, he has a high prey drive and despite being 10 years old, he still has some pep in his step and sometimes pulls on the leash. He walks much more politely though when given more freedom on a 10ft or longer leash. The saying “old dogs can’t learn new tricks” isn’t true and Jax has been working hard on learning new skills like responding to his name and checking in with his people on walks to prevent pulling. All he really wants though are a few walks or hikes a week; they don’t even need to be long, toys to play with, and most importantly, a couch he is allowed to cuddle his people on.
