About

Izzy - CO

Izzy was brought to Colorado from Idaho, prior to that she lived in Michigan and was a very loved family pet who was bred occasionally. Somehow she was sold and became a full-time breeder, until she wasn't needed anymore. She is 9 years old. She is now in a foster home in Colorado and this is what we've learned about her. She is one of the SWEETEST dogs you will meet - can't emphasize this enough! She is a people pleaser. She is finding that she loves going on walks (1 mile is all she needs and is content and two walks a day would be even better). The foster family lets her "hunt" on walks - sniff all the smells, which wears her out. She is not reactive to other dogs on leash and she can be protective of her crate when she is in it. She does not seem to be food aggressive. She loves people and loves to smell everything! Other than that, she loves to sleep and snuggle. She just can’t get enough love and she gives it back. She is also very correctable, and is learning commands, like “sit.” She is very treat motivated. She has good recall, but if you see a rabbit on a walk, make sure you have a good handle on the leash, she is still a hunting dog. She takes awhile to warm up to other dogs in the house and we feel her ideal home would be a home where she can be the single dog, queen of her castle! She will give you all her love. Her nickname is Isa-Dorable. If you are interested, please apply!
