About

Annie

Annie is a joyful, easygoing girl who loves nothing more than being wherever her people are. She's calm and quiet indoors — genuinely a couch potato at heart — but comes alive at the water's edge. Annie is an incredible swimmer who would happily swim laps for hours if you let her; trips to the lake are her favorite thing in the world. She also loves playing gently with stuffed toys, learning new tricks for treats, and roughhousing with dogs of all sizes.

Annie is fully house-trained (no accidents since she was a year old) and crate-trained, sleeping in her crate at night and resting there comfortably when left alone for a few hours at a time. She's not a barker at all — if she does bark, it's worth paying attention to. She's had extensive professional training and knows sit, stay, down, place, shake, and kennel up. She pulls a little on leash but responds well to correction, and does best with a secure yard or boundary collar, since she has a strong prey drive and loves the thrill of chasing a rabbit or deer.

Annie has spent her life as an adored member of an active family and is well socialized with adults, including regular visitors, workers, and daycare staff who all love her. Because of a documented bite incident with a child, Annie needs to be placed in a home without young children — she'd do best with adults or respectful older teens who can give her a calm, consistent routine. Her family and their trainers were unable to identify a specific trigger, so this is a firm requirement for her next home rather than a case-by-case judgment call. Any serious applicant is welcome to discuss her full behavioral history with us before meeting her.
